Action for Brain Injury Week 2009

For Action for Brain Injury Week in 2009, we have chosen to promote the use of cycling helmets. From contact with Groups and Branches across the UK, we know that this is an ongoing issue that affects a large number of our service users and their families. By encouraging cyclists to wear helmets we are fulfilling one of our crucial aims - to help reduce the prevalence of brain injury in society.
Recently, we have seen a lot of media interest in the use of cycling helmets. The success of the British cycling teams at the Olympic and Paralympic Games have also increased awareness and interest in cycling and it's important we build on this momentum.
