Headway consults -
all those receiving services and their relatives and carers
Every year, LL&R Headway consults with as many people as possible who have received Headways’ services during the past year. This year Headway trustees decided that carers and relatives should be given the opportunity of meeting with the General Manager (Sylvia Davis) or the Chair of Trustees (Michael Switzer) and in locations not too far from home. Meetings were held in Brockington College Enderby and Trinity Methodist Church in Loughborough - where Headway outreach groups meet - and two meetings were held in Leicester at Headway House. Those that had difficulties with transport were assisted to these venues. Headway felt that this was a successful venture for those that attended and hopes to have meetings similar to this at least once a year but possibly at six monthly intervals.

People with a brain injury were given the consultation questionnaire by their key worker and offered assistance
if required. These were the responses:
Summary
Day Centre Members – Current Services
80% of day centre members responded. Most were very happy with what we provide. A very few were critical.
Outreach – Current Services
73 % of those receiving an outreach service responded (includes some who had both day centre and outreach services.) Most were very enthusiastic about the services they had received.
Future Activities requested
About a third would like more sport, outdoor activity, education and/or support into volunteering.
Criticisms/Comments
Only 1% thought the buildings unsuitable.
1% thought the times inconvenient
1% would like different accommodation and
1% thought they might need different accommodation later
Carers
27 written replies (probably about 50%) Most were very happy indeed with our services.
4 felt that they would like some respite and 6 thought that accommodation might be an issue in the future.
50% would like carers meetings twice a year in different venues and with transport available if necessary.
