It cannot of escaped your attention that the COVID-19 rates are again on the rise and there has been growing concern regarding the Omicron variant.
These are challenging times and it can be hard to decide whether to carry on with your daily activities or to try and minimise risk by staying home and reducing your contact with others.
Here at Headway we are doing all we can to keep everyone safe whilst still ensuring we are providing the support needed and continuing to operate the service.
Keeping everyone safe
The whole team have been offered the COVID and Flu vaccine and many have also now had their booster.
The team are required to complete 2 lateral flow tests and one PCR test each week.
Face coverings are worn by staff when supporting our members.
Temperature checks are completed upon arrival.
Numbers attending the service remain at a reduced level.
All surfaces and bathrooms are cleaned regularly with antibacterial spray.
Hand sanitiser is available throughout the building.
What can you do to help
Although the government advice has been that if you are fully vaccinated you do not need to self-isolate if a family member or close contact has tested positive for COVID-19.
We are asking that you DO NOT attend Headway and remain at home.
We have some very vulnerable people attending our service and we want to keep them as safe as possible.
Additionally, if we have an outbreak amongst the team we may have to close the service temporarily.
We would also like you to stay at home if you have a cough, any cold or flu symptoms, a temperature, diarrhoea, vomiting/nausea or feel unwell. It may not be COVID but avoiding any winter virus helps.
If you do attend and display any symptoms or have a high temperature we will be asking you to return home immediately.
You don’t have to miss out
If you do have to stay at home you don’t have to miss out, you can join our Digital Day Centre groups online. Please contact us for more information and we can send out the invites to add you to the groups.
Hopefully we can all look forward to a virus free Christmas.
If you have any questions please contact the office on 0116 2739763. You can also use this number to inform us if you are not well and not coming in.
